6 on Health: Study finds some of the best students using drugs and alcohol
A new study out of the United Kingdom finds some of the country's best students are indulging in drugs and alcohol.
A recent study shows British teens with the highest test scores are more likely to drink alcohol and smoke marijuana.
The study found older teenagers with the highest scores were more than twice as likely to drink alcohol, compared with lower-scoring students.
It should be noted, however, that the drinking age in the United Kingdom is 18.
The study also found students with the highest test scores were nearly twice as likely to use cannabis and 50 percent more likely to use it occasionally.
