Another FEMA disaster recovery center opens in Port Arthur to assist residents

Another FEMA disaster recovery center opened in Port Arthur Friday.

FEMA says it has one DRC already in Port Arthur, but long lines there made opening a second location a good idea.

The new center is at:

The Central Mall

3100 E. FM 365 Suite 130

Port Arthur, TX 77642

Hours: Mon- Sat 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Sunday noon - 5:00 p.m.

SBA is also at the location to assist with loans and help more residents understand the funding they can sign up for.

These centers allow residents to sit down with FEMA and work out their concerns face-to-face.

Going forward, FEMA says all of their DRC's will remain open 7-7 daily until the need it met in the area.

In addition to FEMA, the Small Business Association will be on site to help residents apply for business, home or rental loans.

SBA loans for homeowners can be up to $200,000 with just 1.75% interest.

The deadline to apply for assistance from both FEMA and SBA is October 24th, so access those links or go to a local DRC as soon as possible.
