Beaumont man indicted in teen's killing at hotel
A 23-year-old Beaumont man was indicted for murder Wednesday in the killing of a 17-year-old girl.
Leroy Jackson IV is accused of shooting and killing Taylor Matte, a teenager who was found dead in the early morning hours of Aug. 31 at the Travel Inn Hotel on Interstate 10.
Police say they responded to the scene around 3:30 a.m.
Matte appeared to suffer from a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to a probable cause affidavit associated with Jackson's arrest.
The affidavit states two other men were involved in the homicide and both of them indicated Jackson was the shooter.
Jackson was arrested for murder later that day. He was indicted Wednesday by a Jefferson County grand jury.
