Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office needs help identifying motel robbery suspect

Investigators had been looking for someone who used a knife to rob the Super 8 Motel on N. Martin Luther King Highway in Lake Charles last Thursday, Sept. 28. They later learned the same person may have committed an armed robbery Sunday, Oct. 1 at a motel in Opelousas, Louisiana, about an hour and a half west of Lake Charles. The Opelousas Police Department provided photos of the potential suspect and vehicle.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect in two motel armed robberies in the past week.

Investigators had been looking for someone who used a knife to rob the Super 8 Motel on N. Martin Luther King Highway in Lake Charles last Thursday, Sept. 28.

They later learned the same person may have committed an armed robbery Sunday, Oct. 1 at a motel in Opelousas, Louisiana, about an hour and a half east of Lake Charles.

In the Sept. 28 robbery, someone entered the front lobby with a knife and demanded money from the cash drawer. An undisclosed amount of money was taken the person left the scene in what investigators believe to be a silver Kia Optima.

The Opelousas Police Department provided photos of the potential suspect and vehicle.
