Firefighters rescue physically challenged child from burning Groves house
Firefighters in Groves rescued a 12-year-old physically challenged child from his burning home and carried him away from the flames to safety.
They say his 11-year-old brother got out safely and told arriving firefighters his older brother was still inside. They found him in his wheelchair in a bedroom and brought him out safely.
The injured brother was flown to Shriners Burn Hospital where doctors are treating him.
The fire broke out at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday at a home in the 3200 block of Allison Avenue near HEB in Groves.
Investigators say they fire started in the garage and they're working to determine it origin..
An aunt says the family thanks firefighters and emergency workers for their quick response.
