Jasper man hospitalized after 'numerous' bee stings

A long time resident of Jasper is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Lufkin following a Wednesday evening accident at his home on the west side of town.

Friends say Charles Jones was apparently operating a tractor shortly after, when he ran over or struck as nest of yellow jackets or bees and was stung numerous times.

Jones who was estimated to have received as many as 300 stings was taken by ambulance to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital, where he was treated before being transported to the facility in Lufkin.
