JCSO: Woman tries to sneak drugs into federal complex

Jefferson County deputies say a woman has been arrested, after she tried to sneak drugs into a federal complex.

Just before 9 a.m. Saturday morning, investigators say they received information that a 32-year-old woman from San Antonio was going to deliver narcotics into the federal complex on Knauth Rd.

Investigators located the woman's vehicle in the prison's parking lot.

That's when two women left the vehicle, and headed for the visitor's area of the prison.

Investigators questioned the women, and one of them admitted to hiding balloons containing Black Tar Heroin and two strips of Suboxone inside her body.

Officers searched her and found 3 grams of Heroin and Suboxone stored in balloons. She was booked in the Jefferson County jail on the charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Contraband inside a Correctional Facility. The vehicle was searched with the assistance of Nederland PD K-9. The vehicle was then released to the other woman.

The other woman was released.
