Port Arthur man found not guilty of murder in 2014 killing
A Port Arthur man was found not guilty of murder in the 2014 killing of Tuderriel DeWayne Richmond, who prosecutors say was robbed and shot to death on 15th Street.
Daniel Francis is still in jail for aggravated robbery linked to Richmond's death, but his attorney Langston Adams says he hopes his client is also cleared of the robbery charge.
Police found Richmond wounded in a ditch in the 1700 block of 15th Street, near his home on Dec. 6, 2014. Richmond died at a local hospital.
Francis and co-defendant Scott Washington were charged with aggravated robbery and murder in Richmond's killing. They were indicted in October 2016.
Adams says all the scientific and eyewitness evidence pointed toward his client's innocence.
Washington is set for trial next Monday.
