Port Arthur murder suspect taken into custody more than six months after killing
PORT ARTHUR —
A suspect in a deadly shooting in Port Arthur last year was taken into custody Wednesday more than six months after the killing.
Abraham Emanuel Washington, 29, is suspected of murder in the Sept. 25, 2017 killing of Joseph Lindley. Lindley was 28.
It happened at the Villa Main Apartments on Main Avenue.
Officers responded to the scene around 4 a.m. and found Lindley wounded from a gunshot. He was taken to a local hospital where he died a short time later.
Port Arthur police did not offer details on what led Washington's apprehension, but thanked the U.S. Marshal Service and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office for their roles in the investigation.
Washington's bond was set at $750,000.
