Suspects arrested for identity theft and forgery thanks to neighborhood watch

Thursday around 11:00 a.m., Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle sitting on the road for a long period of time at Patna Road in West Jefferson County.

Inside the car was Ashley Loftin, 33, Wesley Martinez, 26, and Yance Young, 26. The three suspects were in possession of stolen mail and a gun.

"They were actually by our mailbox, like parked by my mailbox for a while, so it makes me wonder, you know, were we going to be next," Jennifer Daigle said.

Deputies discovered evidence that the mail was stolen from addresses in Silsbee, Lumberton, and Beaumont. The three suspects were arrested and charged with identity theft and forgery.

Each of their bonds is set at $45,000 for identify theft and $15,000 for forgery.
