Water pressure up in some parts of Port Arthur
PORT ARTHUR —
UPDATE: The city of Port Arthur has lifted its boil water notice.
Previous report below:
It's been two days and Port Arthur is still under a boil water notice.
Due to hundreds of pipe leaks throughout the city, pressure dropped, prompting that boil notice.
PAISD closed schools Friday as a precaution as well.
While restaurants are able to stay open, as long as they abide by certain guidelines created by the state.
City spokesperson LaRisa Carpenter says although pressure came up throughout the night, it wasn't enough to lift the boil notice.
So while crews continue to make repairs around the city, they're hopeful that water pressure will increase more over the next few days and get the city off that boil notice.
