Man brought out of water at Pleasure Island taken to Beaumont hospital

Firefighters have rescued a man from a car which crashed into the water at Pleasure Island on Friday morning.

At about 9:30 a.m., a witness called 911 saying a silver car had been still on the ramp before driving off the pier.

The rescue took place about 100 yards away from the pier.

Port Arthur firefighters brought the man back to shore to perform CPR.

The man was taken to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, then later to Christus St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.
