Officers were called to a home in the 2100 block of Angelina at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Someone living at the home called to report the death of Brian W. Dabbs, 53, who lived there.
According to Sgt. Flores, an injury to Dabbs, along with physical evidence found at the scene, caused detectives to describe the death as suspicious.
Sgt. Flores says investigators aren't yet ready to call the death a case of foul play. They're interviewing witnesses and looking for other witnesses.
Justice of the Peace Nancy Beaulieu has ordered an autopsy.
