ORANGE COUNTY- by Ashley Gaston/KFDM News
A man in Orange County is behind bars indicted on 4 counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Deputies say he molested two girls who are under the age of ten.
The 36 year old suspect is a registered sex offender. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Jack David Hoosier of Orange County pleaded guilty in 2000 to indecency with a child. He received 10 years probation.
Hoosier is behind bars tonight at the Orange County Jail where he's spent the last month. His bond is $400,000. A spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff's office told KFDM News it was the girls school that first alerted the mother last month, something might be wrong.
According to the Sheriff's office, the mother works and the bus driver usually drops off the children at a babysitter's home. But the babysitter wasn't there and the school contacted the mother.
Orange County Investigators say, the mother told the school to bring the children home and a man she called "Uncle Jack" would be there.
The children refused to go home and became upset, according to Sheriff's Deputies. It was September 25th. That's when investigators say the girls told their mother Jack Hoosier had been molesting them at least once a week for the past year.
The mother called the Sheriff's Department and they took the girls to Baptist Hospital Orange where deputies began investigating.
Sgt. Chad Hogan with the Orange County Sheriff's Office said, “This guy has taken away their innocence. The girls have to live with this for the rest of their lives. That's the sad part the sex offenders don't care about their victims, only their own gratification. It's sad because he's a registered sex offender with 2 more victims and you wonder why."
Child Protective Services has placed the girls with a relative while the case remains under investigation. If convicted of aggravated sexual assault, the suspect could face up to life in prison.
