ORANGE COUNTY - From Orange County Sheriff's Office -
On Monday, January 28, 2013 at approximately 4:30PM the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Assistant Principal at Orangefield High School concerning suspicious circumstances.
On arrival Deputies met with the OHS Assistant Principal concerning a “Hit List” that had been located in a restroom inside the school. The “hit list” had several students’ names on it.
Orange County Sheriff’s Office Investigators were contacted and conducted the Investigation. Investigators were able to locate the suspect in this case and the student confessed to writing the note.
They were able to locate and speak with all of the kids who names were on the list. Investigators also spoke with each child’s parent advising them of the situation. Investigators located the suspect in this case who is a 15 year old student at Orangefield High School. The 15 year old spoke with Investigators and confessed to writing the “hit list” and advised he did it as a prank and was not planning to follow through with the threats.
Orangefield High School suspended the student and charges are pending in this case. The investigation is ongoing.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has been providing extra patrols and walking through all of the schools in Orangefield and the other schools in Orange County making sure that the school and students are safe.
