AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Two of the Department of Public Safety's 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders have been caught in Texas and Louisiana.
DPS in Austin on Friday announced the arrest of 52-year-old Edward Dwin Jackson and 42-year-old Jimmy Ray McMillan.
Jackson was arrested Thursday night in Houston for failure to register as a sex offender and parole violation. A tip led to his capture at a residence.
Investigators say Jackson's criminal history includes indecent exposure, carrying a prohibited weapon, burglary, drug use and evading arrest.
McMillan surrendered Wednesday in New Orleans after apparently getting in a dispute with another person and finding himself without transportation or shelter. McMillan is wanted in Nacogdoches (na-kuh-DOH'-chihs) County for failure to register as a sex offender. His criminal history includes sexual assault, burglary, evading arrest and DWI.
