PINEHURST - The Pinehurst Police Department is searching for a man who used a gun to rob a worker at a Dollar General store
The man walked into Dollar General at 2500 MLK Drive in Pinehurst at about 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Employees say he bought something and pulled out a black, semi-automatic pistol when the worker opened the cash register to make change.
The man threatened the employee and removed cash before running away.
Witnesses say the man, possibly in his late 30's, is white, about 5'9", 175 pounds, with short gray hair, gray stubby facial hair and a reddish complexion.
He was wearing a black toboggan hat, a red long sleeve sweatshirt and light colored blue jeans.
He left in what witnesses describe as a late model silver Chevrolet Impala with damage on the rear passenger side area.
The time stamp in the surveillance is one hour off due to the recent time change.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Pinehurst Police Department at 409-886-2221.
