Port Arthur Police are investigating a home invasion shooting that left a man critically injured and a separate shooting that injured one person.
Police responded to the first call at 4:27 a.m. reporting a home invasion robbery at an apartment complex in the 4300 block of Turtle Creek Drive. The victim said three men with masks forced their way inside and ordered a man and woman to get on the floor. One attacker demanded that the victims give him money. He began looking through their belongings.
During the robbery one of the attackers fired shots at the man, striking him several times.. The 31-year-old victim was taken by ambulance to Christus Hospital St. Elizbeth. The victim is in critical but stable condition.
Port Arthur Police responded to a report of a second shooting at 4:38 a.m. Investigators say a 37-year-old man was leaving a friend's home in the 1100 block of 6th Street when a vehicle pulled up and someone fired shots in his direction. The man was shot twice. He is in stable condition at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Police are searching for the attackers.
