Lamar hosts Pitch, Hit & Run event Sunday
BEAUMONT, Texas – Lamar University will host a free Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run competition at Vincent-Beck Stadium following Sunday’s 1 p.m. Southland Conference baseball game between Southeastern Louisiana and Lamar.
The competition is open to boys and girls from ages 7 to 14. Winners have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, culminating with the national finals at the 2012 MLB All-Star Game in Kansas City.
The individual pitching, hitting and running champions along with the all-around champion in each age group at Sunday’s event will receive awards and advance to the sectional level of competition.
All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate to Sunday’s competition and fill out a registration/waiver form prior to competing.
