Jillian Fertig joined the KFDM/Fox 4 Morning Show in 2017.
Jillian grew up in Midlothian, Texas. She is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University.
Before moving to Beaumont, Jillian worked at KFOX in El Paso and ABC 17 News in Columbia, Missouri. In her 2 1/2 years there, she worked as a reporter, weekend anchor and producer, as well as the 5 p.m. co-anchor.
Jillian covered the unrest in Ferguson after the deadly police shooting of a local teenager in 2014, and subsequently exposed inconsistencies in what elected leaders said and how the situation was handled. The story earned an honorable mention by the Missouri Broadcasters Association.
She also worked on a year-long investigation into the IBM facility in Columbia. She found that the company did not create the number of jobs it had promised the state of Missouri in return for $28 million in tax breaks and discovered the company's petitioning for H1-B visas after it laid off hundreds of American workers. The story led to an investigation by U.S. Rep. Vicky Hartzler's office.
Jillian's passion is investigative journalism. She feels that it's important to hold officials accountable and expose corruption, and she's not afraid to ask tough questions.
When she's not working, you can find Jillian in the sky -- literally. She is a USPA-licensed skydiver with over 60 jumps, and the number continues to grow as she advances in the sport. Jillian also enjoys exercising and has run three marathons.
