Oil spill shuts down eastbound lanes of I-10

Beaumont police issued a traffic advisory Wednesday morning on Interstate 10 near MLK.

Officers shut down the east bound lanes around 5:30a.m.and started diverting traffic off the highway.

As of 7:00a.m. Police and fire were still working to clean up debris on the road following an accident between an 18-wheeler and a car. A dispatcher with the Beaumont Fire Department tells KFDM when the two vehicles collided they hit a light pole. The light pole feel across the highway and hit another car. No one was injured in the accident.

Police are asking the public to take an alternate route.
