Round 2 of isolated showers and thunderstorms dotting the area for lunchtime. These storms should be shortlived. Highs will again reach the lower 90's in most areas. Less coverage of showers as the week progresses. Look for some of the hottest temps to date as we approach the weekend. Mid and upper 90's could be the norm by the weekend.

Starvin Marvin's fundraiser to help Exxon-Mobil burn victims

KFDM News - Cars crowding into the Starvin Marvin's parking lot may be a familiar sight, but the people weren't coming in just to have lunch.

It was also to raise money for a special cause.

The parking lot turned car wash had non stop cars rolling in where volunteers were on-hand collecting at least a $10 donation for each car washed.

A Lifeshare mobile truck was also in the parking lot, collecting blood for the victims.

Three of the Exxon-mobile fire victims remain at burn units in Galveston.

The idea for the fundraiser rose from the owner of the restaurant and his daughter who say Southeast Texans come together in time of need.

There is also a benefit concert and silent auction at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Starvin Marvins. Proceeds will go to the victims and their families.
