Firefighters battle Industrial fire for 11 hours
ORANGE - Firefighters in Orange battled a fire at an industrial building for 11 hours.
Fire Chief Jerry Ziller said materials inside a warehouse at Beckett & Beckett Inc. exploded at about 3 am.
The company is located in the 1000 block of Highway 87, just north of the Orange County airport.
Firefighters with the Orange, McLewis and Bridge City fire departments were among the responding emergency crews.
Firefighters drafted water from a nearby canal to fight the fire.
Ziller said the company re-claims rubber from plants like Firestone.
Firefighters left the scene at about 2:30 this afternoon.
Highway 87 was shut down early this morning while firefighters worked the fire.
Ziller said nobody was injured.
