PAPD Chief Blanton says man charged with capital murder in shooting deaths

PORT ARTHUR - Port Arthur Police Chief Mark Blanton tells KFDM News a man is charged with capital murder in connection with two shooting deaths and investigators say the suspect has admitted to the shootings.

Officers arrested Demetrius Bernard Glenn, 20, of Port Arthur, late Thursday afternoon following the shooting deaths of Demario Polk, 24, and Carlos Deshawn Lowe, 23, both of Port Arthur.

Police found Lowe's body slumped over in the passenger seat of a car parked near 59th Street and Topaz.

Polk's body was on the ground outside the driver's door.

Chief Blanton says investigators have found a gun they believe is the murder weapon.

A judge will arraign Glenn Friday and set bond.
