Detectives search for leads in triple homicide

BEAUMONT - By Justin Hinton, KFDM News

Investigators are still looking into who killed three Beaumont men and wounded two others in a shooting last Thursday.

Beaumont police officers say Michael Ray Carmen, Jr. of Beaumont is no longer a person of interest in the shooting that took place while several men played dominoes.

Investigators identified those men as Macgarrett Jack, 28, Preston Wilson, 62, and Joshua Ceasar, 29, all of Beaumont.

A group of pastors sponsoring a youth rally in Beaumont said the violence needs to stop.

“We need to go back and take the city back— city by city, block by block, man by man, person by person and just go get God's people,” said Pastor James Gardiner of Faith to Faith Christian Ministry.

Gardiner planned the rally long before the shooting but says because of recent events the rally comes at a good time.

“Our response first is to teach the young people that they can live a life without violence,” he said.
