Judge Burnett offers grace period before warrant round-up

JEFFERSON COUNTY- You can pay up or face the possibility of jail.

Precinct 7 Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett and Constable Jeff Greenway are preparing for a warrant round-up next month.

They're going after people with unpaid traffic tickets, people who've written hot checks and others with arrest warrants-but there's still time to pay.

The round-up begins August 12 but Judge Burnett is offering a grace period. You can visit his office and take care of your obligation. He's extending his office hours until 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

August 12-16 officers will come after you at home, work or anywhere they can find you.

Call Judge Burnett at 719-5900 ext. 3 or go to to find out if your name is on the warrant list.
