Woman kidnapped, forced to withdraw money from ATM

PORT ARTHUR - Port Arthur Police are investigating a kidnapping in which a woman escaped from attackers with guns who forced her to drive to an ATM and stole her car.

The woman told officers she and her boyfriend were at her home on St. Augustine Avenue when several men who'd been hiding at the side of the home confronted them and held them at gunpoint. The woman said one attacker remained with her boyfriend outside while she was taken inside. Police say she may have been sexually assaulted.

The woman said the men forced her to drive to the 2700 block of Memorial Boulevard and tried to get her to use her ATM card to withdraw money. The women alerted a clerk and got away.

The attacker drove away in the woman's car. She was taken to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth for treatment. Her boyfriend wasn't hurt.

Officers found two of the attackers and questioned them.
