Celebrating 72 years of marriage
A Southeast Texas couple that has been married for more than seven decades didn't hesitate to advise others that marriage is a lifetime commitment.
That in itself, they say, means it won't be easy. But that doesn't mean, they say, the union isn't worth fighting for.
Gene and Rose England married in Port Arthur in 1941.
Today they celebrated 72 years of marriage at their port acres home with family. The couple has two sons, two grandchildren, one great granddaughter and one daughter-in-law. They say their family is their life.
Gene England also celebrated his 92nd birthday. His great granddaughter, Rylee helped him with the candles.
The Englands say they've had a great many struggles in 72 years of marriage, so it's important to find a partner who understands commitment.
