Orange County Sheriff's Office seeking man accused of sexually assaulting girls

The Orange County Sheriffs Office in Orange, Texas is actively seeking the arrest of Robert Gehagan. Gehagan is wanted for two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, which have been entered into NCIC.
In November 2004 Gehagan was living in a shed behind a friends residence located in Vidor.  During the time Gehagan was living there, he began sexually assaulting a nine year old female. Upon learning of the assault, the child was taken to the hospital for medical treatment and formal charges were filed for aggravated sexual assault. Once the family returned home, Gehagan was confronted and informed that charges had been filed. According to witnesses, Gehagan immediately threw his belongings in his pick-up and fled the residence.

During the investigation, it was also discovered that Gehagan had sexually assaulted a second victim, an eight year female, while living on the property.  On February 24, 2005 two warrants were issued for Gehagan arrest.  Law enforcement officers have been unable to apprehend Gehagan and all leads have been exhausted.

It is believed that Gehagan was raised in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, and may still have family or friends in the area. Gehagan may be working as a handyman or doing cash only jobs to support himself. He may also be using ficticious identifying documents.
