Search warrant yields property taken in burglaries

A search warrant executed at a north end apartment complex by Beaumont police detectives resulted in the recovery of several items taken in a string of Old Town burglaries, Sgt. Rob Flores stated.

Members of the Special Assignment unit served the search warrant at an apartment in the Plymouth Village Apartment Complex at about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at 5080 Hilbig.

Detectives were able to develop probably cause for the issuance of a search warrant through an anonymous tip and detectives recovered several items including electronics, jewelry, and handguns, Flores said.

Detectives believe these items were taken in a string of burglaries that occurred int he Old Town area in late September, Flores said.

Two adults and one 16-year-old boy were taken into custody at the apartment complex, Flores said.

The adult suspects were identified as 22-year-old David Dwayne Johnson and 19-year-old Onesha Rashay Bruno, both of Beaumont, Flores said.

Detectives were interviewing Johnson and Bruno at about 3:50 p.m. and charges will be determined following those interviews, Flores said.
