Port Arthur building burglarized, individual turns self in

PRESS RELEASE -- Today the Port Arthur Police Department received a call from an individual stating that he had burglarized a building and that he wanted to turn himself in. James Wesson Jr. 51, transient informed the responding officers that he had burglarized a storage facility in the 4800 block of 7th street on 10/11/2013 and that he wanted to be arrested.

The suspect took officers to the storage facility and it was confirmed that the building had been burglarized. The owner of the storage unit was contacted, in which he came to the location. The owner informed officers that he did not give the individual permission to enter into the building and he also verified that items were missing. The owner of the building stated that he wished to pursue charges in this incident.

The suspect was transported to the Jefferson County Jail where he was booked in for burglary of a building.
