PAPD responding to murder suicide involving elderly couple

UPDATE: Police identify the elderly couple as John and Patricia Knight.

PORT ARTHUR - by Scott Lawrence

Port Arthur police are responding to what investigators call a murder-suicide involving an elderly couple, according to information Police Chief Mark Blanton provided to KFDM News.

Chief Blanton says the couple's son hadn't heard from them. He went to check on his parents Wednesday afternoon at their home in the 76 hundred block of Golfhill Drive off Jimmy Johnson Boulevard. Blanton says the son found their bodies.

Sgt. Scott Gaspard says the son found the bodies of his parents in their bedroom. He says it appears they died of gunshot wounds.
