Robbers attack 81-year-old man

BEAUMONT - Beaumont Police are searching for attackers who robbed and injured an 81-year-old man.

Police say two men confronted the 81-year-old man at about 8:30 p.m. Monday behind a building at 505 West Florida.

One attacker struck the 81-year-old man in the face and knocked him to the ground, causing minor injuries. The attacker took the man's wallet with cash and ran away with the second person across Highland Avenue.

On Monday, October 14, 2013 at 8:24pm, Officers responded to 505 W. Florida in reference to a robbery of an individual. On arrival it was learned that an 81 year old man went to 505 W. Florida to go speak to a tenant that lived behind this building. He saw a black male in the parking lot, and he assumed it was the live in boyfriend of the tenant he was going to speak with. He approached the male, Suspect #1, and asked him if he was the boyfriend, and the subject said that he was. He asked where the tenant was, then Suspect #2 showed up at the scene. During the conversation between the 81 year old victim and Suspect #1, Suspect #1 struck the 81 year old man in the face and knocked him to the ground, causing minor injuries. Suspect #1 then proceeded to rummage thru his pockets and removed his wallet, which contained cash. Both Suspects fled on foot southeast from the area across Highland Avenue. During the investigation, the real boyfriend was located, and not believed to be a part of the robbery.

Suspect #1: black male, wearing a black bandanna do-rag, dark clothing, dark complexion; Suspect#2: Tall, black male with dark complexion
