A dry weather pattern will continue for the next few days with below normal temperatures. In fact, scattered frost can be expected Sunday morning over the Lakes Area. DPS releases name of Vidor teen who died while walking on I-10
VIDOR - The Texas Department of Public Safety is now releasing the name of a 14-year-old from Vidor who died in a crash on I-10 in Orange County.
Sierra Phillips was killed in the collision at about 7:40 Monday night.
Troopers say the driver of a black Infinity passenger vehicle was traveling eastbound in the outside right lane of Interstate 10 when Phillips walked from the middle of the Interstate into eastbound traffic. According to troopers, the driver could not avoid striking her.
The driver of the Infinity, Debra Krenek of Houston, was taken by ambulance to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth for observation. Her husband, Michael Krenek of Houston, was the only passenger in the vehicle and he wasn't hurt.
Eastbound lanes were closed for several hours while the DPS investigated the accident.
