Silsbee resident arrested in connection to embezzlement of funds

The police chief in Silsbee tells KFDM News a woman who was supposed to help oversee money for Project Graduation is accused of taking some of the money.

Chief Mark Davis says 40 year old Michelle Quave is accused of embezzling money from the Operation Graduation fund.

Someone contacted the police department last month about $3,000 in missing raffle ticket money.

Chief Davis says the suspect was a vice president of the board that governed the program for Silsbee High School.

She posted $2,500 and was released from jail last week.

Davis told KFDM Quave is under indictment for a prior case accusing her of identity theft.
