Fire destroys Jasper mobile home

JASPER COUNTY - by Steve W Stewart/KJAS & Rayburn Broadcasting Company

A weekend fire destroyed a travel trailer, leaving a Jasper man without a place to live. The incident occurred shortly after 8:00 Saturday morning in a trailer park located at 408 Carlton Drive.

911 dispatchers received a call from a neighbor who was awakened by the fire. Jasper firefighters arrived a short time later to find the 27 foot trailer completely engulfed. They quickly extinguished the flames, but not before the trailer was destroyed.

The owner of the trailer, Tommy Bonds, said a man named Jared Stephenson lived there. Bonds said Stephenson was not in the trailer when the blaze occurred.

Meanwhile, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
