Firefighters rescue man stuck in tree; BPD takes man into custody

HARDIN COUNTY -

The Beaumont Fire Department responded to a call this morning from a hunter reporting a man stuck in a tree in Pine Island Bayou. A dispatcher with the Beaumont Fire Department says the hunter heard the man yelling. The tree was surrounded by water, and the man could not get down. The tree is on the Hardin County side of the bayou.

The Lumberton Fire Department used boats to rescue the man, and then brought him to Beaumont firefighters waiting on the Jefferson County side of the bayou. There, the Beaumont Police Department took the man into custody. Officer Doug Kibodeaux says the man had outstanding warrants.
