Jefferson County grand jury indicts man charged with driving drunk and causing crash that killed woman
KFDM News - The Jefferson County grand jury indicted a man accused of driving drunk and causing an accident that claimed a Groves woman's life.
Twenty-seven year-old Leroy Rideaux, Jr., is facing a charge of intoxication manslaughter and a charge of intoxication assault.
Police say he crashed into the back of a Ford Focus stopped at a red light at Memorial Boulevard and 39th Street in Port Arthur on Feb 23.
The driver of the Focus was taken to the hospital with critical injuries where she died a short time later.
A male passenger in her car was also injured.
Intoxication manslaughter is a second-degree felony. If convicted, Rideaux could face 20 years in prison.
