Chase leads to arrest, discovery of drugs
ORANGE COUNTY - from Orange County Sheriff's Office
On Thursday, March 20, 2014, around 11:33 p.m., an Orange County Sheriffs Deputy patrolling the 9000 block of FM 105 in Orangefield, Orange County, Texas, observed a black Chevy truck pass another vehicle in a no passing zone and accelerating at a high rate of speed.
The Deputy attempted to stop the truck for the traffic violations, but the truck continued without stopping in an attempt to elude the Deputy. Speeds reached as high as 85 mph in a posted 35 mph zone. The driver of the truck pulled into a residence driveway at 10109 FM 105 and came to a stop after it collided into a fence. The driver exited the truck and attempted to climb over the fence to evade the Deputy on foot. The Deputy ordered the suspect to stop and the suspect realized he could not climb the damaged fence. The suspect continued his attempt to get away from the Deputy, however, the Deputy managed to get close enough to the suspect to deploy a Tazer and bring the suspect into custody.
The suspect was identified as 22 year old white male Levi Gollihare of Orange. He was detained for Evading Arrest with a vehicle. A small amount of synthetic marijuana and Valium were located in the vehicle that Gollihare was driving. Gollihare also had an outstanding warrant, a Motion to Revoke Probation out of the 128th District Court.
Gollihare was transported to the Orange County Jail and booked for Evading Arrest-State Jail Felony, Possession of a Controlled substance-Misdemeanor B, Possession of Synthetic Marijuana-Misdemeanor B, and the MTRP Warrant. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace David Peck around 7:45 a.m. on March 21, 2014. The bond amounts for all offenses totaled $2,500. The MTRP Warrant had NO Bond. Gollihare remains in custody at the Orange County Jail.
