Child dies following collision between scooter and car

ORANGE - A child has died after doctors removed  him from life support following a collision between his scooter and a car.


Shari Pulliam with Texas Family and Protective Services told KFDM News doctors at UTMB in Galveston removed 7-year-old Evan Villadsen from life support at about 1:15 a.m. Thursday.


Pulliam says doctors kept him alive to allow his family to donate his organs. 

Police in Orange say Villadsen rode his self-propelled Thomas the Train scooter into the path of a car at about 9:20 p.m. Sunday on Bluebonnett Street in Orange.   

The driver stopped after the accident. Investigators say the driver couldn't avoid the child and wasn't charged.


Police tell us someone broke into the family's home and took Playstations and games while they were at UTMB in Galveston.
