Synopsis.......

Another hot start for the coast and the lakes. With moisture in place, we could see a repeat of the isolated showers and t-storms as we saw yesterday. Highs today will again reach the lower 90's. By Friday and through the weekend, we will see the moisture out and hot temps on the rise. Look for mid and upper 90's by Sunday and Monday.

BEAUMONT - By Justin Hinton, KFDM News

Beaumont school board members are responding to the TEAs recommendation of a takeover.

Board president Gwen Ambres released a statement for the board saying, We are very unhappy, very disappointed in that response but as usual, we are going to comply with the TEA.

Not all board members agreed with the board stance.

Trustee Mike Neil said, I was excited about what I read, because it validates what we've been trying to say for three years, that there's some major problems.

Trustee Woodrow Reece also weighed in on the situation saying disagreeing with the TEAs recommendation.

He said he disagrees  In light of everything thats going on and things weve already put in place through our finance team, which is supposedly the best in the state of Texas or around. And theyre putting things in place as we speak to monitor the problems that were having.

Board members will meet with Education Commissioner Michael Williams on Thursday and explain why he should or should not follow the TEAs recommendation.
