Just a few showers and thunderstorms will be possible over the next few days due mainly to daytime heating.  A much better coverage of rain can be expected Thursday into Friday as a cold front moves in from the northwest.  This front will bring us cooler and drier air over the weekend.

Funeral services set for 10-year-old Port Arthur boy killed crossing highway

KFDM News - Funeral services have been set for a Port Arthur boy killed while crossing a highway on Saturday.

Ten-year-old Tyvone Washington was hit by an SUV when he was trying to cross Highway 69 near Central Mall in Port Arthur.

Police say he and several young boys ran across the highway around 10 p.m. Saturday night after a trip to Central Mall. Washington died at the scene.

A viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Gabriel Funeral Home  in Port Arthur.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m., followed by a burial at  Greenlawn Memorial Park.
