A Jasper man is undergoing medical treatment, and his 16-year-old daughter is behind bars after she was accused of stabbing him in his neck on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred shortly before 3:00 outside of a home on the corner of Greer and Renfro Streets on the northeast side of town.
Jasper Police Chief Robert MacDonald said a 47-year-old man is undergoing treatment at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital, and the girl is being detained at police headquarters. There's no word yet on whether she'll be charged as a juvenile or as an adult.
According to Chief MacDonald, his officers had already been to a disturbance at the residence earlier in the day involving the same girl.
Officer Lawson Dry said the weapon used in the alleged crime was a knife with an approximately 5 inch blade, and Officer Cody Christopher said the father had a deep puncture wound to his neck.
