Another hot start for the coast and the lakes. With moisture in place, we could see a repeat of the isolated showers and t-storms as we saw yesterday. Highs today will again reach the lower 90's. By Friday and through the weekend, we will see the moisture out and hot temps on the rise. Look for mid and upper 90's by Sunday and Monday.

Port Arthur teacher Ruby Gunner fights to keep her job

KFDM News - A Port Arthur teacher acquitted of injury to a child is fighting for her job.

Ruby Gunner sat through the appeals hearing for the proposed non-renewal of her contract.

Much of the testimony was rehashed from her civil trial, but for this hearing Gunner testified as well as a counselor at the school.

The hearing officer will have 15 days to make his recommendation to the school board.

The board will then decide whether Gunner can return to work at Lee Elementary School.
