Chevron Phillips issues statement about continuing work on investigation into cause of plant fire
Port Arthur, Texas (11 a.m.) Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP (Chevron Phillips Chemical) confirmed that work continues on its investigation to determine the root cause of the July 7 incident.
Both employees remain hospitalized and are undergoing treatment. Our hearts are with our two employees and their families as we support them during this difficult time, said Margie Conway, plant manager at Chevron Phillips Chemicals Port Arthur Plant.
Reviews are underway to determine when the unaffected areas of the plant can be safely restarted. No timetable has been set for restart of the area affected by the incident.
The health and safety of our collective workforce and neighbors is a top priority at our company. We are committed to completing the investigation and implementing any corrective actions so that we can prevent this from happening again, stated Conway.
