Tropical Storm Cindy has formed in the Gulf of Mexico
UPDATE: Tropical Storm Cindy has formed in the Gulf of Mexico.
PREVIOUS: There has been little change in the structure of the system in the Gulf this morning. It still appears likely that it will become a tropical storm later today and receive the name "Cindy."
The watch is now a warning and has been extended to Galveston County.
A general track to the northwest is expected to continue with landfall around daybreak Thursday very close to the Sabine Pass area.
However, virtually all of the inclement weather is to the east of the center and it will make a huge difference whether landfall is to the east or west of our area.
We should have a better idea of an eventual landfall later today.
