PROSTITUTION FOR BOND

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) -- Hooking for bail money. Now, a Montana man has been sentenced to two years in prison. David Earl Luginbuhl has pleaded guilty to charges he encouraged his girlfriend to turn tricks for his bond. Authorities say they talked about the men she serviced and the money she charged on the jail phone. Conversations are automatically recorded. The Billings Gazette reports was he sentenced to a total of five years, with three suspended.

DETERGENT FOR DRUGS

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) -- Drug dealing is a dirty business -- but what's up with all the Tide? It seems dopers are trading the detergent for crack and pot. San Bernardino, California, police Sergeant Travis Walker says detectives raiding dope houses were stumped when they found lots of Tide. He tells the Riverside Press-Enterprise the drug buyers are swapping the expensive laundry detergent for a fix. Walker says one local supermarket chain reports losing hundreds of dollars' worth of Tide each week.

HONEST TEACHER-MONEY

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- It's a lesson for everyone. Unemployed teacher Candace Scott spotted a clear, zippered bag by the side of the road. The Texas educator says she thought it looked like it had money -- or maybe a dirty diaper inside. Turned out to be cold, hard cash -- about 20,000 bucks. The money had a Chase bank label and she returned it. The Eagle newspaper reports bank officials gave Scott a $500 credit gift card. The bank didn't provide details on how the money was lost, citing courier safety.

MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE

REHOBOTH, Mass. (AP) -- Don't blame the post office for this late delivery. A couple celebrating their engagement put a note in a Champagne bottle and tossed it into the water off Tampa, Florida. That was more than a decade ago. Well, the message Karl and Michele Kimmell wrote has been found by Michael Souvigny along the St. John's River in Green Cove Springs, Florida. He tried writing to the Kimmells but the letter was returned. He turned to The Sun Chronicle newspaper which published a story. Michele's sister saw the article and contacted the Kimmells. The Massachusetts couple says they plan to contact the finder.
