FREDERICKSBURG, Texas (AP) - The Texas Department of Public Safety says three people are dead after a helicopter crashed in Central Texas.
The DPS says authorities followed an emergency beacon to discover the wreckage and bodies Friday morning in northeast Kendall County, about 80 miles west of Austin.
DPS Trooper Jason Reyes had no immediate details on the victims or the origination and destination of the flight.
The Federal Aviation Administration says the crash involved a four-passenger Robinson R44 helicopter.
Reyes says the search began Thursday evening when an airborne pilot reported an emergency locater beacon transmitting in the area.
A DPS helicopter joined the search but poor weather conditions forced authorities to call off rescue efforts for the night.
Searchers located the wreckage around 7:45 a.m. Friday.
