JEFFERSON COUNTY- By Megan Dillard - Not everyone is happy about President Obama's victory Tuesday night.
In fact, numbers show that the country is split in half when it comes to supporting Obama.
KFDM captured reaction from Jefferson County Republicans to the announcement that President Obama will keep his seat.
"You voted for action, not politics as usual."
President Obama addressed the country after the announcement that he'll serve as commander in chief for four more years.
"Whether I earned your vote or not, I have listened to you."
Some people in Jefferson County were not happy with the news.
"The country is probably sunk forever now."
Vivian Shiffer joined other Republicans at an election watch party Tuesday night.
As a map of the country showed a clear blue victory, she broke down in tears.
"The worst four years in my sixty-one years of living in this country that I love. We got married forth of July. My dad is buried in Arlington. I've been 26 years a military dependant. To have someone win because of his race and not his abilities, I'm just in shock."
Shiffer said she wanted to see Obama succeed.
"I was hoping the first black president would've done a great job."
But believes what she calls his lack of action in office points to a nation in trouble.
"The unemployment rate is atrocious. What happened over there in Libya, deserting our people, is appalling."
Lamar University graduate student Daniel Whitton was also disappointed with the results.
"With the national debt increasing, and projected to increase even more over the next four years, I'm really surprised at the electorate choosing to reelect the man who put us in this shape."
Whitton believes actions speak louder than words.
"A lot of the things he's done, a lot of the hot-mike moments that he's had, have really done a lot to counteract what he promised."
He believes that the Republican-controlled House of Representatives can make a difference during Obama's next term.
"In order to accomplish any kind of fail-safe against the liberal policies that he's tried to put into place, the conservative members of the House really need to stand up and start overturning some of these executive orders."
So while some hold out hope for the next presidential election, others say Obama as president means no hope.
"Disappointed, yet resolved."
"I've given up."
Republican Vivian Shiffer says her husband is working in Afghanistan.
When he returns, the couple plans to move to Panama.
