Officers converged on thet area and began a door-to-door search for Willis and the child. During the search, Willis was in contact with the mother through a cell phone. Police say he was demanding a $2,000 ransom for the safe return of the child.
Police found Willis at 3:50 a.m. inside an apartment at the Magnolia Street complex and took him into custody. Officers also located the child, who wasn't hurt, and returned him to his family.
